Cool thingy, even if a little too easy and short. It's really pretty and a pretty good jam game

Graphics are cool, but sound (or lack of it for the most part) sucks. Also, you can't really feel how much HP do you have left, as there are no indicators.
It's cool, but kinda repetitive after a while. Some baddies could help, as keeping your timer high is VERY easy. The only thing that stopped me from progressing further was a situation in which the right kind of fruit just wouldn't spawn on the level. I needed 3 pieces of the same fruit on LV18, yet only two were present. Same situation on my next run, but this time on LV17.
Anyway, there is a lot of charm to your game ^.^
Edit: It's better now and the bugsquashes aren't as overpowered as they were before, but I still feel like it grows easier with more fruits per level instead of more difficult. When you drop all of the needed fruit on the ground before collecting and giving them away, then it's still pretty easy to get to the green time bars at LV20+
Had to deliberately kill myself at lv30 because I grew bored at that point ^.^' Maybe if the fruit were giving less time at higher levels, or if the timer went faster the further into the game you are, then it could be more challenging :P
Already adjusted the difficulty and bonus time, thanks
A pretty and wholesome game. Haven't played the original, but your demake looks well, works well andjust feels nice :) An ending screen would be nice, but I don't really have any solid problems with the game itself
Ok, so first, the art is just GORGEOUS.
But some sprites look like they were made for a game with a totally different resolution and it looks weird (the fires and the key for example). There's some polishing to do, like adding a death sound, because you can't really feel getting impaled on the spikes. But still, there's some potential, so I'm waiting for the next worlds ^.^
And then, there's this semantic thingy... You can't just slap the words 'souls-like' for your game to actually be a soulslike. It's misleading and there aren't many similarities.
Thank you so much, I am glad that you enjoyed the game. I understand the confusion with the semantics and will change it soon. :)
Just a great jam game with some nice exploration and style :P
Had low expectations, but was disappointed by an actually enjoyable game. Given that it's just a demo, it's a pretty nice thingy :D
Also, these achievements would work well with the NG medal system. I've managed to get all of them besides the one on the far left; is it something secret? :P
Cool, engaging game that got really difficult near the end :D
Just a few issues:
What's the point of having both 'play' and 'new game buttons? I finished the game, clicked play expecting to see something like a level selection but got nothing. Another issue that kinda kills the point of the whole game is that it's not really that hard. I didn't even have an average ratio of three deaths per level, but less. There are way too many safe spots and the thing would be harder if both the square and the circles were proportionally faster. The game didn't have any music (unless I missed something), but that didn't bother me, as these kind of games usually have a crappy music that I turn off anyway. And circle sprites with square hitboxes aren't nice.
However, the controls feel nice, the graphics look ok and there is Moses, so I won't be that harsh with my scoring. Overall, it's an 'ok' clone/reincarnation of the old thing
It's so nice to see one of my fav genres, for the lack of the better word. First person square tiled mazes were always great and I love both playing them and creating them. I honestly thought that if I wanted to play these, I'm kinda limited to the actual decades old games like Wizardry, Waxworks or Phantasy Star 1, so it's cool to see a simple, but refreshing example of a flash(?) thingy that utilizes this method. It kinda encourages me to upload mine first person mazes on newgrounds (I've made three by far), so now I feel kinda inclined to send you a message after I've done that, to avoid plugging my stuff in reviews that are supposed to be about the reviewed games, obviously ^.^' While your game is short and very minimalistic, it still felt good. It had a few bits of that old school, flash game humour and it managed to pull me through despite lacking wall textures or sounds. I like how you portrayed the void beyond a few tiled ahead of you by just stretching the diagonal lines towards the center of the screen. The only tech problem I had while playing your game was that the Sun was visible from a nearby dead end despite there being a wall in front of me and that basically told me where I shoud be heading. Anyway, stay cool and don't let the 2,5 stars put you down :P
